Cooper

Today, my "big" little man is having surgery at 9.30 on his teeth.
I'm scared to death, they are putting Cooper to sleep and they said the surgery should only take an hour, but that seems like a long time to his Gigi.
Jack and I are heading to Children's Hospital this morning to be with him (and his Mommy and Daddy of course!)
Say a little prayer for my "big" little man. I'm so proud of him and so proud to be his Gigi.
It's hard for me to believe my little boy will be 7 this year!

Wednesday Song...

I heard this song years ago and tried to find it on here...finally found it on YouTube and I do believe it's an old version, but it serves it's purpose! Jason Crabb is amazing, if you have never heard or watched him perform...watch the entire video. I have never in my life seen someone sing with as much conviction as he does each time he opens his mouth and belts out the first word!
Enjoy the video...

So Behind...So Little Time!

What an awful last few days. We've been to the doctor's office 3 times in less than a week. But the good news is, little man is starting to feel better!

We had a good Saturday though, I had a shower to attend (which I showed up too an hour late...thinking I was going to be early!!) and it was so fun to see everyone again. It makes me sad how the older we get, the only time we see some of our girl friends/sorority sisters is at weddings or showers...but at least we have that time together, right? Here is a picture of the bride and bridesmaids at Mandy's shower...

The Bride-to-Be and me!

I didn't get to post on Sunday, my Sunday song because Jack was still yucky feeling and had to be on my lap most of the day. I am still trying to come up with one and will hopefully have a Wednesday Song tomorrow.

Playing "Model's"...

Tuesday, Jack and I had the opportunity to model some fabulous clothing for a photo shoot for my wonderful friend Jessica Leigh of Jessica Leigh Photography {If you are looking for a photographer...contact her, she is amazing!} Jack and I were super excited and had such a great time. He did pretty good too, for his first modeling (and certainly not last!) debut!
I'm not sure what all I could put on here, so I'm just going to put my favorite, in case Jessica hasn't sent the pictures to the maker of the clothes yet...which I'm sure she won't find "my" blog...but just in case...you'll have to wait to see the others!
Jack and I spent the better part of 2.5 hours at the doctor's office yesterday. He was scheduled for his 18 month appointment, but ended up getting sick so we had to have it all checked out. After me worrying to death, the poor little guy has an ear infection and bronchitis. Luckily "that's all" because they also checked my prince for RSV! It scared me to death and I prayed the entire 17 minutes it took to get the results back of negative. He did however get an antibiotic for 10 days for his ear infection and numbing drops. There isn't anything to do for bronchitis except a nebulizer (sp?) and he said that wasn't a guarantee fix...and also said to just wait and see how he does...so I'm waiting.

Jack does pretty good while sick, he's still playing and running around...just a little more whiny and clingy, but all Mommy's love snuggle time!
We hope everyone has a great rest of their week and stays healthy and away from germs and sick people!

Good News...and Sad News...

So, I will start out with the good news! Sis went to the doctor today and got a pretty positive reaction from this new doctor!! She will be going back in 2 weeks for her blood results, but he believed her problems are from her Lupus flare up that she is having...which is fantastic. {It's not fantastic that she is having a flare, but that she doesn't have anything worse!} The doctor is going to check all of her levels and things like thyroid and iron...so please keep her in your prayers!

For the sad news. My brother-in-law's Mamaw isn't doing well at all and they've only given her 6 to 12 more months. She just had leg surgery and has a spot on her liver and a mass in her breast. She is 86 years old and the sweetest lady out there. Her and Papaw have been married for 70 years, so my concern isn't for Mamaw, it's for Papaw. I can't even imagine what he will be going through. They are a God send for my brother-in-law and family. Please keep her and all of them in your prayers.

It's so hard growing up and getting older, because those around us grow older too. However, after loosing Nanny so suddenly two years ago, it makes you wonder which way is better to loose a loved one. There is no good way to ever have to say goodbye. Nanny didn't suffer, God decided it was her time to go and she went. But it was so hard on our family members that wasn't there to tell her goodbye. Mom and I were there (along with my wonderful Husband), but we still didn't get to say goodbye. We didn't know God would take her so fast. It wasn't easy for us either. But, then to have to think about watching your loved one's die while they are sick isn't easy either. I remember the pain Shannon had to go through with each phone call about his Mommy...the phone calls of "She's not going to make it to Christmas" and more. But she did, and I was so happy Shannon could be there when she went to heaven, but again...it didn't make it any easier on him to let her go.

The wonderful thing about it all, is we will see them all again one day. God promises us that and that is how we can go on.

Sorry to have such a good and bad update...but I just wanted to ask my prayer warriors for more prayers sent our way.

Love to you all.

Sunday Song...

I love this song. The first time I heard it, I cried so hard in the car, I could hardly see to drive.
I don't even have a little girl, I am blessed with a beautiful boy...but all I could think about is how our life has changed over the last 18 months and how it is going to change even more in our future with Jack in it.
I am blessed and so proud to be his Mommy, but sure did wish "it would be like this for long"...Enjoy my Sunday Song.

My ♥

These two boys have my . {Is this not the sweetest picture ever? Oh I just love it.}
I'm officially on "Spring Break" (Spring Break at almost 30 is NOT the same as it was 10 years ago if you're wondering~)
But while on break, I have to write a children's book and fully illustrate it, make/decorate a book self and do 7 classroom observations. So, as you can see...it is merely a break from class, not from the work.
Plus, Jack Jack and I have lots of plans...we are going to be getting out of the house as much as possible...weather permitting.
Today, my little boy is A YEAR and A HALF OLD!!
It's hard to believe it's been 18 months since God blessed me with the most amazing child. I'm so lucky and he is so much fun...and I have to add he LOVES his Mommy!! :)
Here are some pictures of the little man eating O-R-E-O's for the 1st time ever!
{Kind of like his 1.5 year old "birthday cake" in the form of 3 cookies!!}
This one is his "I'll stab you with my plastic fork if you take my cookies!" Picture~
I never knew Oreo's could be soo messy~
Showing off is hard work~
If I don't get to post again before the weekend...have a wonderful one!

I could get HER!

Ok, so we've been waiting all week last week and weekend for Sis's Dr's appointment today...well, my poor absent-minded Sister has her appointment NEXT Monday! Mom and her drove all the way to the hospital/Dr's office only to find out, she's a week early!
I told her it was a sign that NOTHING is wrong...she just stresses herself out so much over things, I told her not too, that she is fine.
But...this time next week, I'll be asking for prayers again...or if you can remember, just pray all week!
Thanks everyone for your comments and prayers~!
They mean the world to me and my family.
I hope the weather is as beautiful were you are it is here!
My car said 77 degree's when we just got out!!
I can get use to that~

I'll Say a Little Prayer for You...

If you read this, and you happen to believe in the power of prayer as I do...please say a little prayer for my Sister today.
She is having some health issues and having to go at 1.30p.m. (EST) to have some blood work done, so please send up as many prayers for her and our family as you can at this time...it means the world to me.

Thank You!

We Love You Cici...

Sunday Song

Great Is Thy Faithfulness: {Words By:}Thomas O. Chisholm, 1923. According to Chisholm, there were no special circumstances which caused its writing—just his experience and Bible truth. The hymn first appeared in Songs of Salvation and Service, 1923, compiled by William M. Runyan. It is the unofficial “school hymn” of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, with which Runyan was associated for a number of years.
**From:http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/g/i/gisthyf.htm**

Great is Thy faithfulness,
O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassion's, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

Refrain

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Refrain

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Refrain

I chose this song for many reasons, but above all...
When people let us down, our health let's us down, or just our circumstances are not where we'd want them to be...God is ALWAYS Faithful. He NEVER fails us.
I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend.

If I had a Million Dollars...

So, today I was thinking...while the wonderful purple creature called Barney has kept my child entertained this morning...
What would I buy if I had enough money to spend without considering worrying about bills? I think this comes from my husband and I "knowing" we are going to win the lottery...we just have to play it, right?
So, my first stop would be the Coach store. I love everything Coach. It's an obsession probably. My son has 2 Coach diaper bags, I have an outrageous amount of purses and a few pairs of their shoes, and perfume...however most of it came from the outlet!! I have never paid full price for any of it...NEVER

...BUT if i had an unlimited amount of money and no worries...this is what I'd buy, and they aren't at the outlet! :(...AND I'd buy it all...not just one!

Isn't this bag beautiful? I love the color, it's fabulous!!

So...then I really started to get into this...what else would I buy?

The Hubby would get one of these...of course he already has an awesome Harley-Davidson...but he'd get one more of his choice. Since I'm not sure which one he wants now {it changes with the weather!} I decided to put up a pick of my hottie hubby at Bike Week last Spring.

And every pair of these made......along with the little man a matching set in each color they make in his size...

This for Jack, it's all pirate of course!

There are so many other things that are in my mind of "what I'd want"...but that's another day, and I don't have time to sit and find all the pictures.

I do however have a question...if you had all the money you needed, not an awful amount, just more than you need to pay bills and eat and didn't have to worry about what you bought...

what is one thing you'd buy?

What is your "wish list" item...what is that ONE thing you'd splurge on?

Weekend Gone Already?

Where is the time going now? I swear, as I creep closer to 30 I seem to find myself in a daze about time and how in the world it goes by so fast now. I remember when I was younger, how days would last for what seemed like weeks (especially Christmas Eve!) and now, if you blink, you'll miss it.
The family and I got up and at 'em yesterday morning and went and visited a church! It was a good one too and we were so happy we went! The Preacher had potato's sitting around the pew's when everyone got there, it was weird...but his entire sermon was on being a "Pew Potato"...kind of like a couch potato...it was a great message and he was really funny too, which hits a few good marks with the hubby! We all enjoyed it and will be going back next Sunday. We love going to church with my family at their churches, or to the church that I belong too...but as long as the hubby and I've been married, we have never joined a church together. With Jack getting older, being involved in church is something that is very important to me for his life. I was in church all my life, maybe not every time the doors opened, but we were usually there every Sunday morning and maybe Sunday night. I want Jack to just "know" that is what we do...we go to church to get our "cups filled". My husband and I also decided that we wanted to find a church closer to our house, so driving 30 minutes to church wouldn't stop us from going! Plus, I want to get involved in a MOPS group and go ahead and put Jack in a Mother's Day Out program a few times a week and this new church offers both!!

After church, we went to lunch and then had to run to Target, so we didn't get home until 2.30 and the little man was wore out, so was I...so we napped. Then when we got up, it was time for me to start on my education philosophy paper that is due this coming Saturday. Oh boy did I! I was up until 2.30am trying to get it finished and I finished with a 9 page rough draft. It needs some revising and editing...but at least the "meat" of it is finished...the potato's come next!

However, all this hard work left me out of blogger world and I didn't get to post my Sunday Song...so it's here today. The Monday Song... :)

Enjoy it and have a great day!

A few months ago, I had the privilege to go with my Sister and a few friends from her church to a Women of Faith conference in Atlanta. My favorite part was the music of course and to my surprise...Nicole C. Mullen was there. If you are not familiar with her, google her and go to her page. She is amazing and can move mountains with her voice! She lives in Nashville with her family and could possibly be one of the best performers ever! Not to mention her "to die for" arms and body. She is one built woman! (I am going to try and figure out how to put songs on here before long...so you can hear them...not have to read them!)

"When I Call on Jesus" by Nicole C. Mullen

I'm so very ordinary

Nothing special on my own

I have never walked on water

I have never calmed a storm

Sometimes I'm hiding away from the madness around me

Like a child who's afraid of the dark

But when I Call On JesusAll things are possible

I can mount on wings like eagles and soar

When I call on Jesus
Mountains are gonna fall

'Cause He'll move heaven and earth to come rescue me when I call

La la la la, la la la la

Weary brother

Broken daughter

Widowed, widowed lover

You're not alone

If you can't find the strength to carry on
But when you call on Jesus
All things are possible
You can mount on wings like eagles and soar
When you call on Jesus
Mountains are gonna fall
'Cause He'll move heaven and earth to come rescue you when you call
Call Him in the mornin'
In the afternoon time
Late in the evenin'
He'll be there
When your heart is broken
And you feel discouraged
You can just remember that He said He'll be there
When I call on Jesus
All things are possible
I can mount on wings like eagles and soar
When I call on Jesus
Mountains are gonna fall
'Cause He'll move heaven and earth to come rescue me when I call
